I need to cover the back of a mirror with fabric and need to locate an attachment device that can be attached to the mirror (by glue) that will allow for the fabric to be stretched over the surface and conceal the holding device. I have used a product previously in upholstering the inside of an cabinet. There was a special tool that would allow the material to be inserted into the plastic strips (lengths of 6'-0") along the leading edge that gripped the material and prevented it from sliding out of the plastic track. Any assistance in locating a supplier and name of this product would be appreciated. Gene |

I would think you could use metal curve-ease, also called pli-grip, and instead of nails, glue it to the frame. Then you insert the fabric into the teeth and gently tap the teeth down over the fabric. It will conceal the fabric and the pli-grip. This is used all the time in chair backs to make a hidden, finished back. I think it would work with hot glue too.

Reply with quote | #3 | Could you have a plastic tack strip? ( can also be metal ) Insert strip by pushing the tacks from back to front about a half an inch towards edge. Next you roll it around to the inside and if you place the strip about a half on an inch toward outside edge you will have a nice clean invisible edge to pound in place. Just a thought. |
